Fellow experienced cultivators,
I have just recently begun cultivating my own P. Cubensis from spore syringes i recieved from the Hawks Eye. I made the mistake as i'm assuming many do of buying pint jars instead of 1/2 and I just finished innoculating them this weekend.
My questions are:
1.) Are 1 pint jars efective and do they really take as long as people say?
and
2.) Does anyone have any personal reccomendations about what matierials and what methods to use for a terrarium setup? I have just started to think about it and I have almost no idea, due to my not knowing many professional mycologists, what setup is best. Please HELP ME!!!

Hey,
Im no professional or anything, but I can give you some help!
Pint jars do take a little while longer, but, hey, as long as you keep them in a warm (82-86 degrees), dark, and *sterile* incubator they should go ok for you. If you havent gotten an incubator setup yet, just get a cooler and an aquarium heater, (they arte only like 15 bucks) and stick the aquarium heater inside a jug of somesort, and calibrate it so it keeps your cooler nice and warm.
As for a terrarium, get a big plastic clear box from walmart or kmart or staples. One of those clothe boxes or something, I forget the name of them. But they are like 66 quarts or around that size.
For humidity, just get a bag of perlite. Its pretty easy to find. Wet that nice and it will keep the humidity up around 95%, which is good for cakes. Light is not really an issue, but you do need it a few hours a day. A normal lamp is ok, just as long as the mycelium knows where to fruit.
I think thats it... For now at least.
