Do a search on deep scratching, when my friend did that he got many pins all over.It works to get a consistent pin set by making the top casing layer pretty uniform in how colonized it is.

I usually pull my casings out of storage and into fruiting conditions after about 35-40% colonization occures.

How long is your recovery period after casing?(2 days?) Is mycelium network evenly and visisbly permeated through casing layer?

My recovery period pre-casing is 1 1/2 days and my recovery period post casing is 5-7 days on a 3/4 inch substraigh and a 1/2 inch casing

O.K., that sounds within correct parameters..the only thing i can suggest is after you bring them into fruiting cycle, you monitor mycellium network. At this point, light will play a factor(if you only supply direct over-head light then all the better) if not you may and will have sporadic outbreaks(why; because they'll grow toward the light, whether its on one side or the other)..this is gettin too long. Bottom line is ; If one section is outdoing the other, just add some casing to slow it down until the other catches up..when its evenly colonized let it go. Hope this helps, my fingers are sore and my mind is tired!------------------ "A good shroom is like a 'sore' peter...You just can't hardly beat it"

Try the penis envy strain (not a joke, a real strain). No matter what happens the pin set is uniform and the yields are amazing. Just make sure you grow it with plenty of fresh air or else it will look like elongated penis - long stems, small caps and no spores. Very potent too

Does any one have any penis envy spores that they would like to trade?

I want that strain! I'm afraid it will be envious of me though.Seriously though, I would liuke that strain if it is just as easy to grow as like, PF.
