This post is about a week too late, but...
You could've still proceded with your experiment even though you didn't label the jars. In fact you don't need them...
Just case your trays and deep scratch in one sitting.

Actually to complete his experiment he would in fact NEED to have labeled the jars/trays d00d.... he is trying CAC which is where he would be applying spawn to the casing layer....if he used say ...B+ in a OI tray...results would be a turf war d00d.

Dood... I am sure HE can read between the lines (apparently, YOU cannot).
Q. Why can't he use the unlabeled jars?
A. Because there would possibly be two incompatable strains competing. This is obvious.
Q. What would happen if he were to deep scratch the colonised substrate after casing?
A. The same thing as would happen at "cac"ing. There would be colonised substrate mixed in with the casing, which afterall is the same thing! 
I come on here to talk with people, and share my experiences in a positive manner. Making this post is giving me an uneasy angry feeling. I was trying to help, and wish the original poster the best. You, on the other hand...

Anyhow,
The main concern that I see is contamination becoming counterproductive to biological efficiency. But, if you can reach Biolgical Potential more quickly, then awesome...

just a thought.
what about not using spawn for the CI?
say that you inoculate the spawn via LC, then use same LC for inoculating the casing. no "compatibillity" problem.
LC should spread more evenly throughout the casing, and without turning the casing into a "nutritious layer".

The first time where I had very even pinning and a full out flush was with a contaminated spawned h/poo with cobweb. I couldn't shake the cobweb. Sprayed the spawned h/poo with h202 water mix for the 4th time then added the casing layer. Cobweb came back and into the casing layer. sprayed it down again and mixed in some of the substrate into the casing layer. cobweb didn't come back and I had awesome flush best I have ever had.

Experiments went so-so. Found that adding around 10 to 15% coir to ph adjusted peat/verm casing mix appeared as effective & a lot less hassle.

so i am working with a guy who has a portabello farm... he is sent this CACing stuff from his spawn supplier, i believe its golden oak a LARGE spawn company... anyway he hasnt noticed any difference but said the big companies swear by it... im not sure exactly how many times he tried it or anything but he was definetly thinking of creating his own if he was going to use it... in just that same fridge/freezer idea
