is that light inside your terrarium ?
if so, you'll prolly be way to hot.
the aq. heater should, if needed, be placed in a jar full of water.
mixing strains in a single terarium should be no problem.
adding water, assuming you're using perlite, is usually not needed if you rinsed it good. it's best not to have standing water as it breeds bacteria. i just add a splash of peroxide every week.

If your concidering useing a fishtank water heater here is an idea (I do this to incubate my jars) go buy a larger sterlite or similar container. that will fit your grow chamber on its lid and a reptile thermometer that you stick on the glass.....fill the larger container with enough water to completly submerge the water heater...place the thermometer strip on the lid.....turn the water heater on and adjust the temp accordingly.....but the room temp in your house should suffecient(sp?) to induce fruiting...... make sure your lights are not keeping your grow chamber to warm.....to gauge your humidity look at the condesation on the walls...if it streams water down the sides its to humid for fruiting if an ocasional water trail rolls down the walls your good to go....

Thanks, I appreciate your help. I birthed three cakes and they are going SLOOOWWW! And you were right about the humidity, streaming. How would I go about lowering humidity?

Don't forget you will have mycelial off gasing which also means giving off heat of its own so don't rock your temps up to the max of the ideal fruiting range but 3-5 degrees under.

You need to lower the fruiting chambers temp and the outside of the fruiting chamber....
Here is an idea on how to lower the temp in the chamber....get one of thoe cold gel compresses disinfect the hell out of it with rubbing alcohol and place it in the chamber.... this should lower the temp so your humidity is not to high. to cool the outer chamber( ie. your room) try fans....
