Big pimp daddy is back... my new grow chamber

Sup everyone... I've been gone a while. After the shroomery updated and went offline for a while and came back up, I couldn't login for some reason. Hushmail had also updated and I couldn't login to my email either... so I couldn't get a password emailed to me :oP Anyway, I moved and gave my old cheap grow chamber and a few spore syringes to a friend of mine. I decided to build me a new grow chamber and stuff so, here's my plans.... feel free to comment on it and give any tips, I actually hope everyone does that ;) Anyway, here it is...

I'm gonna use a 72qt rubbermaid type container with a cool mist humidifier rigged up to it. I'm gonna have plexiglass on the top (17"x11") to let light in, I'll have another sheet of plexi glass on the inside at an angle to keep the water from dripping on the substrate/mycelium/shroom/etc. That piece of plexiglass will be resting on plastic connectors for the two pieces of hose I have running from the humidifier (connectors are 90 degrees). There will be two hoses connected to the chamber, one on each end of the chamber long ways. In the lid I will also have some holes with filter disks taped over them. I'm thinking three 2" holes on each end of the lid... any advice on wether this is too much, not enough, or just right is appreciated. Also, I figure I need to setup a way to drain the excess water in the bottom of the chamber. I was thinking of having a 1/4" size hose running into one corner of the chamber from the bottom and having it about 2.25" high with a V cut into it going to about 2" just to let it flow a little easier. I figure I will have perlite in the bottom about 1.5" - 2" or so, so I figure that would be about right for the hose... I'll just run it to a bucket or something. Anyway, thats my plans.... I'll post up a few shitty diagrams or something in a minute (don't expect much, heh). Any recommendations are appreciated.... I was thinking about rigging up a couple two liter bottles into the humidifier so that I can keep more water in it and save the hassle of refilling the water every 12 hours (the way that some dog water bowls work).

I dont think you need a humidifier and perlite. Why not just use perlite and get an aquarium air pump with one of those airstones and put it under the perlite. And put some filter discs near the bottom to let the co2 out.

I was considering getting rid of the perlite and just having it drain out the water... I'll have to see how my humidity does though. I'd rather take the humidifier and kill two birds with one stone... keep my humidity right and exchange plenty air. I used a 4w fish tank pump with my old setup, but I still fanned in the morning and at night and occasionally needed to mist my substrate. The fish pump was annoying as hell on quiet nights also, heh. Dunno though... I'll have to play with my setup..... I think it would be a better idea to put the air holes towards the bottom though, thanks for mentioning that.

Ive heard that the humidifier does not provide enough air exchange by itself and you should still use an air pump, but ive personally never used one so I wouldnt really know.

I'm not sure if it'll be enough or not either... I've heard that it is and I've heard that it isn't. Oh well, guess I'll find out... if its not enough, then I'll try a fish tank pump or two w/o the humidifier and see if it keeps the humidity up high enough and if the air exchange is good enough. If so, then I guess its fish tank pumps, heh.
