Thinking about not showering at all this summer...

Or very rarely. It will save water and i don't plan on going anywhere but the lake. Whats the longest you've gone without bathing? How bad did it get? Any suggestions?

I went three days one time. I smelled pretty bad. At least, I could smell myself, and that's pretty bad. :argh:

Naw, I was backpacking, so showering wan't an option. Plus, all that sweating me me extra stinky.

6 days only shower i got was down pouring rain. actually didnt get too bad, wet wipes and rain kept a guy fairly odor free

not showering all summer...bad idea btw. being clean ftw.

langerado this year was the longest for me - 5 days. I need to shower - greasy hair annoys me

I take a shower once every few days, and even then I only jump in and get wet and jump out. no soap or shampoo or anything.

I don't wear deodorant or anything either.
I don't smell bad, (at least I don't think I do).


And this is coming from the guy who not too long ago took 20-30 minute showers every day.

nah... I've ask me mommy to smell me and she would tell me the truth.

I lived on mostly sponge baths for about 6 months. Also plenty of week-long treks in the woods with only rivers and lakes. I hardly create any BO though, so it's cool. As long as I run water on my hair and face.

dude, you are risking physical health. If you sweat and dont shower, you can get very bad skin infections. After that getting sunburned while being dirty leads to even more infections.
what you should do is what people on small boats do.

When you shower wet your body for just a second and lather the soap. turn off water......... then scrub your self, then when ready turn the water on and rinse off the soaps one last time.


you can survive using 2 gallons of water a day with this method.

you can even pre measure how much water to use with buckets.

dont be a dirty hippie, be a conservative hippie (never thought i would use those words together)

9 days, working outside in this warmth quite a few hours each day, no air conditioning running inside (79-81 during the day, 77-79 at nite). no deodorant either, unless i went to the store or something


but i love my stink


sometimes you just gotta get clean, though. i mean hell, even our ancestors who lived outside most of their lives bathed themselves every so often
