I use whole grain rye, and extract it with cranberry juice and citric acid, I also boil it and that seems to help extract more out of it. I then use a clean cloth or T-shirt to strain it, that way I can ring it out forcing all the liquid to go through it. It doesn't taste the best but it works. Thanks guys for your suggestions.

I would like to suggest that if you plan only on mycelial culture, that you not use azurescens, due to it's slow growth rate.(azurescens at 75 degrees F~= 1/2 that of cubensis at 80-85F) Actually, I am not quite sure what species would throw the correct balance of potency-biomass. I would suggest you try using Psi. Mexicana, or Psi. Tampanensis, as the sclerota is as potent as the fruitbodies, and there is even more biomass. Be sure to look into weather or not psilocybin has been detected in the mycelium of a new species before you try it, otherwise your wasting your time trying to grow and extract what isnt there. Good luck.------------------ Visit My website! http://titan.spaceports.com/~spore/

Maxawow, how do you ingest what you are isolating via the juice method? Do you pack it into gell caps, and how much do you take? Where did you find the extraction method?

I just drink the juice. I read about this method in the cultivation section in The Vaults of Erowid, entitled The Foolpoof Psilocybe cubensis Myclelia Culture Technique. It sounded so easy that I had to try it and it worked good! I modified it a little bit after that. By the way, I wouldn't try this method using the PF cakes, because I'm not too sure how healthy the vermiculite is. Better just stick to grain.
