Because they want to let people know that they are here, but are powerless to do so because of the government. Crop circles are the only way they have left to convince people that they (ETs) really exist.

The pro-ET crowd loves to use ockham's razor, so apply it here... which is the simpler answer: crop circles are made by people, as has been demonstrated many times or crop circles are made by space aliens that travel billions of miles to desecrate some poor farmers field and eat a few cow lips.

Our flawed earthly governments can stop aliens who have traveled impossible distances from revealing themselves? :confused:

what is the line coming from the top of the frame, bending ~115 deg and then connecting with the triangular portion of the design?

Locals are probably trying to bring around a few more customers.

That path was from the homeowner after seeing the design.

There are pathways there it seems, looks like the homeowner got excited and walked through the crop.
