I personally despise Christianity, namely Catholicism, but it is indeed mainly a personal issue. I attended a Catholic church every Sunday for 13 years before I finally started to express my feelings toward my controlling father. I always questioned it, but when I was a teenager and so many alternative ways of thinking opened up to me, I started on my own path of spirituality, and found so much more satisfaction than following a set doctrine of behavior and thinking.

Yeah fuck all that.

I like Zen Buddhism and Taoism.

Makes sense. I am a huge fan of Buddhism, and Taoism.
Though I am an agnostic-atheist. The thing is, people forget that Buddha was not a god, nor did he claim to be.

When pushed on the issue, and asked, well what are you, he said, I am awake. :laugh:

It's funny because he also said that basically, if what I am talking about doesn't interest you try something else.
Show me a preacher that will say something like that!!

Many Buddhists don`t believe in any kind of god, or afterlife. People are often very ignorant of modern day Buddhism.

Personally I view god the way Einstein, and Spinoza did.
The former being poetic, and the latter being a description of the universe. :thumbup:

It's funny, just the other day I watched program about Einstein's views on god. I am of above average intelligence, but I don't think of myself as a super genius or anything....

So anyway it was quite nice to hear his personal thoughts, I came to the same conclusions. That, for example a personal god is a foolish idea.

Pretty neat to find out we came to the same conclusions after admiring him for so long :smile:

i do too sometimes.

im at a VERY strange point in religion right now. like im becoming more spiritual and less religious. but i know that Jesus died for the sins of man.

on one hand i want to think that God and I are as directly connected as i can get, but then on the other hand i dont want to break the word of God by rejecting the word saying "none come to the Father, except thru Me"

like theirs religions that think Jesus was just another prophet. well i believe he walked this earth in the spirit of God, but i also believe each and everyone of us can and should do the same. be we are not the only begotten son of God....somewhere in all this confusion, im tryin to avoid "religion" as i feel that its a way to control the masses. i know in my heart if God, Jesus, or any of the prophets were here in todays churches they would throw the tables over just like Jesus did back then.

i feel the religions we have and the churches claiming to be houses of God are whats turning ppl agains the true Savior of this world....

There is as much proof that Jesus is a god, or the son of god, or whatever, as there is for the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Which by the way tastes a million times better and comes with the option of extra garlic bread.

If Jesus did come back, I would hope he would be pissed.

I see so many Christians bashing gays, and talking shit, and not a SINGLE ONE helping the poor. NOT ONE.

I am an atheist, I don't need god to do what's right. I do what's right simply because it is right. No reward is required.

And if you think about it, it's rather selfish to do what's right because you will earn favour with god.
