Man.. the sea urchin. That was the one thing I could never eat. You either love it or hate it. It's also the most expensive sushi. Some of the sushi connoisseurs would always order that shit... my boss made me try it 3 different times.. I almost puked every time.

You know what it is right? It's the ovaries/gonads of sea urchin. I think it was the texture and smell, that really threw me off. It looks like some orange puke from the bottom of the ocean.

The quail egg (Uzura) on top of roe I can handle. But the uni.. oh god.. I want to hurl just thinking about it.


that is the ONLY sushi i cannot eat. it was thoroughly disgusting.

Oh trust me it gets annoying. I still remember that summer exchange program in Japan years ago. It's like "OKAY! I get the point! You guys makes sushi better than we do in the states, now can we PLEASE eat something else!".

Anyway, does anybody hear enjoy contemporary Japanese cuisine, like the stuff most people actually eat in Japan on a daily basis? The curry is absolutely excellent and the hamburg steaks are goofy but okay I guess. And ever been to a ramen house? I know you Hawaiins have because theyre everywhere there.
And the Japanese take on Italian food is pretty cool too. Soft boiled eggs FTW.

Went to The Den of course. Only other place I've tried in Denver is Sasa, but for me, as much as I kinda hate the pretensious vibe in there, the den rocks. NEver ceases to amaze me.

Sushi. I liked it but had a bad experience and haven't eaten it since.

I went to some expensive Japanese restaurant and ordered this boat thing with like 30 different kinds of sushi and split it with my friends. One kid turned green looking at it, one kid was picky, but knew what he was doing, and my girlfriend ate very little. OF course I decided to eat one of everything as fast as i could. I went to the bathroom and it left my stomach into the toilet.
