Uni, Marbled Tuna (Chu-Toro), and fresh wasabi :thumbup:

In the West it's all about the epic rolls, with cream cheese, avocado, or deep fried, etc.

It's less common see rolls in Japan or TW. More focus is placed on the cut and quality of fresh fish.

This is a local spot next to the fish market. It was some of the best I've tried. Around US $35.

I am fiending some sushi right now haven't had any in ages, it would be a miracle if they have some at the super market when I go later.

fire, are you a fan of the mackerel or sardnine? i find it fishy but sometimes i get it may favorite sashimi is cajun albacore yellowtail redsnapper salmon and red tuna oh and the fresh water eel

I remember in 1980 my mom having to make me eat sushi if we went out to dinner. By the time i turned 15 in 1988 i wanted it all the time.

Do you guys feel like most restaurants that serve 'sushi' are totally butchering it by charging a whole lot more money, and squirting some 'sauce' on it? 95% of the rolls nowadays you cant even taste the fish. Which is what you are paying $5-$20 a roll for.

My little brother is stationed in Japan now. He rubs it in pretty hard about how great, and relatively cheap fish is there. I have to go to the promise land at some point in my life. Its like making a pilgrimage to Mecca.

So I ended up getting a sushi/sashimi combo dinner. I've had sashimi plenty but always like a piece or two along with a roll as the main course. I'm pretty hooked on some straight up sashimi after having a plethora of it as the main course. Came with a tuna roll as well. I was in heaven.
