You don't need to be in lotus position to meditate, if that's what you are looking for, you can sit down on the tip of a chair, so your back would be strait, like the Egyptian pictures.
Any way if you really want to do it you have to stretch a lot.

The basic Yoga asanas found in the Back of BE HERE NOW, are preparatory to the higher stages of Yoga, which of course means meditation. In addition to the stretching, do not sit flat on the floor, but sit with the sacrum raised on a cushion. This is called a zafu in the Zen tradition which does long 'seshins' of many hours of sitting Zazen. It works as well for Yoga meditation. One does not have to use full lotus. Half lotus, or the Siddha or Hero posture works as well or better, if it makes you more comfortable. Right heel presses perineum. left heel presses genitalia. The associated anal-genital energies are symbolically pushed back in and up. The solar plexus is free for various breathing (pranayama) exercises.

The position does not matter. As long as you are comfortable and not going to damage your body you should be fine. Attachment to the position will do more damage than good.

I hope it works out.
