Kicked off a college campus for skateboarding

I got kicked off a college campus earlier today for skateboarding. I was just waiting for my friend to get off work and decided to go skate on campus while I was waiting. I probably was skating there for almost an hour. One campus police rode by and didn't say anything to me about 30 minutes later another one pulled up right as I was trying to do a pop shuv-it and said hey or something like that. I had my back turned so didn't realize it was campus police and I said, "What up..." as I was turning around. So he starts going off about "What?, Do you address all authority figures like that." Asked me if I was student which I wasn't anymore its a community college I graduated there a couple years ago. He asked what I doing there I thought it was pretty obvious, but I told him I was skateboarding until a friend of mine got off work. He wanted to know my friends name, first and last. I couldn't remember the guys last name and he gave me hell about that, he's your friend and you don't know his last name. The whole time he's asking me all these questions I'm questioning him asking what I did wrong and asking if all this is just cause I was skateboarding. He completely ignores every question I ask him and keeps asking his own. He asked me if I have any weapons on me and when I'm telling him no my southern accent and speech take over and Naw comes out instead no. So he bitches about that I guess he was expecting no sir's and yes sir's. Well after a search turns up nothing but a pack of cigarettes and a lighter he runs my driver's license. He comes back and says, "Mr. (mylastname) I don't care where you go but you can't stay here." I asked him if that applies to daytime to or just after dark and he told me if I'm not a student I'm not allowed on campus. I wanted to be an asshole to him and start questioning all that, but I didn't want him to try and get me for something just for being an asshole, so I left after that.

What kind of shit is that now. Seriously getting searched just for being on campus and skateboarding. I wouldn't have been so pissed if he just told me to move along you can't skate here. Fucking campus cops think they got a little power or something and just want to fuck with people.
Sorry if thats not completely coherent sounding and the grammer; I'm kinda tweaked right now.

lol i did that to my bus driver in jr high.

and my buddy got arrested for skateboarding at a hospital, so be grateful that's all that happened to you.

Bogus. Flashlight fucks are the worst. I once got stopped by the Handicapped Parking Patrol for truancy when I was younger, they tried to take me back to school but when we got there I had realized who the fuck had me in *custody*, so when he opened the door I just got out and walked away. They just stood there yelling, couple of douches.

i mean if there's no posted sign then it's illegal what he did and he harassed you..

i wouldn't pursue it, but i probably wouldn't have cooperated as much as you did.

Yeah I just wanted to be complete dick about it and go off on him, but I figured as soon I started to be an ass he would find something or make something up to get me for. Though I don't think they can do much to you if anything if your not a student I'm not sure how that works. The school I attend now the campus police are also city police so they have full jurisdiction to pursue you off-campus or whatever.

were there any posted signs regarding skateboarding or trespassing? sounds like the dude was being a douche for the sake of it.

you should've told him no. he had no authority to perform an unwarranted search and wouldn't've been able to do anything but stand there with his dick in his hand.

Nope no signs or anything lots of other people on campus going to a basketball game or something.

As for the search he just patted me down and pulled stuff out of my pockets after asking if I had any weapons. I think cops have a lot a leeway when it comes to this, but I don't think they are actually allowed to take things out of your pocket if they definitely know its not a weapon. Seriously though who carries guns and knives with them to go skateboarding.

1. You should not have let him search you, you were not legally obligated to do so.

2. You should have told him you are alumni of the school, if you really did graduate from there, and have full privileged access to the campus.
