This depends on the type of dyke you're talking about. I live in the dykiest neighbourhood in my west coast city, so I can tell you authoritatively that there are all kinds of dykes. Many of them dress well, they just cut thier hair short, wear looser jeans and hide thier boobies.

Yes, it is really not about having no concern for their appearance, but rather not adhering to the cultural standards for appearing feminine.  Big difference.
