Any way to trick a DVD player?

Into thinking a CD is a DVD? I've tried countless times to make VCD's, SVCD's, or even miniDVD's with Nero but my DVD player won't recognize the disc. It plays copied and burnt DVD's, so I figured it'd be able to read a VCD...can't most DVD player's do that now? If not, is there a program that can encode the CD to read like a DVD?

Read the manual,it should say what foprmats are supported, convert your video files to those formats and try again.
If nothing besides dvd's are supported then i gusse your shit out of luck,AFAIK.

Your DVD player probably does not support those formats.

No.

Yes, sort of. The data on a DVD (minus encryption) doesn't care about the media itself. As long as the filesystem is laid out correctly per the DVDROM Video Specification, you should be fine. Of course, I doubt your player will play it, but worth a shot. Also, a CD holds very little (around 1/10th) compared to a double layer DVD.
