DVD player

Is there a dvd player that will read and play burnt Cd-r's with DIVX mpg's and avi's on them?  Im too broke for a DVD burner so I figure I will look for a nice DVD player that will use my 100+ burnt cd-r's laying around.

Anyone have any thing to recommend? :wink:

I put the model of my DVD player on there, and Redstorm did his as well.  His looks like a better deal, check them both out  :thumbup:  Mine plays Divx, Most Xvid, Quick Time, Windows Video files and more...  Im sure redstorms does as well.

Very good decision to get a DVD player that plays divx... I dont get cable so I download shows in divx and watch them... plus moves in divx etc.

Yeah, I have to download Trailer Park Boys and alot of other shows that don't come on tv anymore, DIVX is a must!

consider modded xbox. little pricier but much more versatile. with streaming you don't even have to burn the discs.

I burn everything, Hard-drives really have a tendency to crash on me.

.avi is a container which can hold Divx or Xvid. Short answer- yes it plays .avi

Its just just to use tmpeg or let nero rencode to mpg1 or 2 but there are players that will play divx. I am not sure how well it works.

Use videohelp.com to figure out what each model of dvd player plays before you get one. Check the adds and find cheap ones and then look up the reviews to see what the play and what people say about them.
