Ok so I just got this 1080p upscaling dvd player that can play divx and mpeg4.
I'm probably not gonna mess with ripping anything myself cause it sounds like a mjor pain in the ass, but I'm curious how burning these works.
Say I'm putting multiple files on a disc (like episoded from a tv show) will those play back to back or how does that work?
Also I never burned burned a DVD before. Can you just throw it in the drive and do a copy from a movie dvd to a dvr like with a music cd and cdr or do you have to rip it first?

No replies?! Sorry no ones been able to help you yet...
You are correct though. GENERALLY you can take the video file s put them on the DVD (or cd's work too if they will fit in that ammount of space) and they will play on the dvd player starting with the first video in the filesystem. You will not get a pretty menu without makeing a true dvd video using something line nero's dvd maker or vista's movie maker but you can still use the chapter buttons to move back and forth between videos.
I havnt gotten to deep into dvd and video burning but there are plenty of factors that can affect the player. For example, if the video was encoded using on codec and an odd wrapper it wont work. I hardly ever write DVDs out unless I download an ISO. Otherwise, I just move the video player over to the other display and switch my TV to the PC input.
If you have software like nero just make a data disk with the files on it or if you just have windows right click on the files and send to your dvd-writer, drag and drop, or copy and paste.
