Bohmian Dialogue

Has anybody read anything about this? Or practice it?
It's an idea focusing on how we communicate, DISCUSSION VS DIALOGUE

Discussion being like ping pong, ideas hit back and forth with no real value. Dialogue being a shared exploration towards greater understanding.

I'm trying to find better ways of communicating, just checkin it out as per advice from a friend.

Any validity to this? Thoughts?

Upon reading, it seems I've experienced this!! When your having a conversation, and the silence and the talking all blend together and everything is understood.

I suppose thats where we should all set the standard for communicating with one another. Easier said than done.

I suppose whats difficult for me, as anyone, is relating to someone when you know/think they are wrong! But I guess that's the idea here.

This is much akin to Martin Buber's I and Thou. Authentic dialogue or discussion as a means for gaining something.

The article mentions Jaspers who is a wicked and way underrecognized existentialist philosopher. I recommend him for further insight on the matter. Look up the concept of "loving stuggle."

it seems that what is being discussed is intimacy to a greater or lesser degree.
intimacy combined with a sharing of culture.
i.e.
turning towards each other while exchanging ideas:
the augmentation of understanding
is as much about self and other
as it is about the arbitrary matter under discussion.
