Depends what the homework is. Paper, I do the research ahead of time and write the paper at the last minute. I'm way more focused that way.

Reading, I try to keep up with it. I'm actually ahead of the reading so far in my James Joyce class and I'd like to keep it that way as his work is so goddamned detailed and allegorical and symbolic and psychologically. You really do have to read his shit on multiple levels all at once. It's great.

I usually pace myself pretty well, because I HATE the feeling of lingering work hanging over me. it makes me not able to enjoy things. thus I do stuff in a pretty timely manner. readings I follow the pace of the course, worksheets I start 2 days or so before its due. papers I usually set up in advance, but actually write 3-4 days before the due date.
