fuck, i want to leave college...

I'm starting to really get fucking bored of this shit, learning all this stuff just so i can jup right into the rat race.
Teachers not coming in on time, having no notes for a certain class.

I'm doing electronic engineering, i want to build shit like guitar amps and studio gear, and i thought if i did electronic engineering it would help and i could get a good job at the end of it, well some of it helps but i'd rather learn this stuff on my own and build the stuff i want to.

Yeah getting a degree would help getting a job but what's the point if i want to work on my own.

i've kept going to college even through the times i doubted whether i should be doing this or not but i'm starting to really hate it. I like some of the stuff but most of it is boring as shit.

I want to do something on my own, i want my own buisness or at least something that isn't eating my soul.

What do you think i should do?
It's starting to fuckin stress me out.

that's the reason im in for the game, in 3 years i have my diploma and then
its off to look for a job that probably has got shit to do with what i studied.

anyways, with a college diploma in your hand chances ont he jobmarked DO improve.
what semester are you in ? if you just have like 2 more years to go i say
go for it, itll sure be worth the effort later on !

it gets better as you go on. first 2 years you have to knock out the gen eds. and learn the basics

Don't stress it--uni isn't a trade school.  It's not really meant to get you a job.  It's meant to make you an informed citizen.  Sure--you can do that on your own, but getting a degree also nudges you to learn and think in ways you might not pursue on your own. 

That said, yes: there are lots of super gay fratboi business majors out there.  :smirk:

you have to find something that you love doing and can get paid to do it. here at Purdue theres engineering technology which is applied engineering, actual hands on labs and work as opposed to just a bunch of math and computer work.

Dude, Im in my 6th year in college. I've changed my majors 3 times, talk about getting sick of this shit.

Well, at least Im getting a well-rounded education :smile:

I too want to be either a mechanical or electrical engineer.

In reality, I think everyone would want to work for themselves, but, its not as easy as it sounds! Some people are able to do it, but, I think for the most of us, if you dont have a good background in it already, or have the hook-ups, your not going to succeed in starting your own business right out the door.

You should go to college, finish, get the degree for a cushion. If your business plan falls through, you'll still have your degree to fall back on if you want to get a job somewhere else.

I think all college students go through the time of feeling that college is useless for them, but, in reality, it's best you just finish.

I agree with what everyone else has said. Just tought it out.

Yeah, there are times when its going to fucking suck. Everyone hates it for awhile at times, and everyone has to take classes they think are "worthless" or "boring".

But like the previous poster said, alot of those classes are working towards giving you a well-rounded education. Being able to make stereos or whatever isnt going to help you if nobody will market them because of your lack of education. And if you wanted a bank loan to start a business, having a college degree is a big factor when applying.

So yeah...Stay in School! Trust me, that degree will seem worth it once they finally give it to you.
