So im going to Dubai

Im going to meet one of my friends over there, never actually met him in real life, im not to concerned with the whole him raping me thing as most people are but i told my parents and they were quite concerned.

Anyone know anything about the city and you know crimes and such?

there is no crime in dubai, reporting a crime there is a crime

you are going to Dubai, and have no info about the land/customs/crime etc, to meet a person you know only from the interwebs, and you want to know if any of us know if this is a safe thing for you to do?
