my bestfriend's girl is cheating on him

alright so i dont post much in the pub but im in a pickle...

try and uderstand this:

my sister, who is best friends with my best friends wife told me that she (my best friends wife) is cheating on him with one of my buddy's good friends.. does that make sense?

well in my mind that's fucked up... esp with a good friend of his. i would normally straight up tell my buddy this shit was happening if i found out but my sister doesnt want me to because she doesnt want her and her best friends friendship jepordized. she told my sister this out of pure secrecy.

i need to let me friend know about this somehow... id want to know if he knew something about my girl you know.

any ideas? thnaks

If his wife knows her best friend is your sister then she put her in a shitty position, and maybe she wants to get caught. I'd wait for his wife to use your sister as a cover and then expose. make it seem like you didn't know and your sister didn't know she was the "cover". then the only one in trouble is the wife.

yea she just woke up and i brought it up to her on how i want to go about telling him and she got pretty upset. saying she trusted me not to tell. i dont know why she told me then. some things need to be brought to light you know?
this should make for a pretty exciting weekend.

I wouldn't want to be friend's with someone who cheated on their husband anyway. What does your sister have to lose? She (your friends wife) has already demonstrated extreme character flaw. It's time your sister find a new friend, and it's time you stop worrying about what that adulteress thinks about your sister.

this happened to me last saturday. you have to tell your buddy - straight up. and if your sister complains tell her she doesnt need to be friends with cheatin' hoes anyways.

fuck that bullshit - you have an obligation/duty as a friend to tell him. There is no other option.

What kind of a friend would you be not to tell, and what kind of a brother would you be to tell?

Tell your sister that she shouldn't have told you if she didn't want you to be honest with your friend. This is a pretty powerful situation that could turn really bad in many ways. If you have a way to relieve some of the tension now, maybe you should.

Only, of course, if you are SURE.

your friend will love you for telling him. it may not seem the case at the start, as he may get directly pissed at you, thinking you were in on the whole thing some how. but, later in life, he will be grateful that you told him when you did, and that no more of his time was wasted with that whore.

OK....bad joke.  Seriously, tell your friend.  And if your sister gets pissed then tell her she blew it as soon as she told you.  She was given information in confidence and passed it on to a third party (you) which was her mistake.  Now you have to do what you feel is right with the information you have been given.
