you should expect much more from a casing- at least three or four flushes. you might be introducing contams to the casing layer when harvesting or just in fanning. either isolate when the contams are getting in or switch to straight vermiculite which is less prone to this problem IMHO.

a couple of things you could try ,,,,,

throwing them out side ....
Stuff needed :
small shovel
straw
old casing's
minerial water
a paper bag
..... Now , find a good spot for your babys... dig a hole 6"-12" inches ... put your old casings in there
put some of the straw in the paper bag get it nice and wet ...throw the wet straw into the hole (3-4" deep)
lightly pack it down but not to packed .... rip the wet paper bag into little pieces and throw it on the wet straw ...
now put the dry straw on top level ... all the way to the top of the ground .... throw some of the orignal dirt on top
(not much at all ) ... down the road throw some poo water on it and just keep checking it ...

Are you could do some studying ....
like try the bleach tek ... and then bulk your casings ...never know ...

but the outdoor tek did good for my buddy who used to new cakes and flsuh in less then one month and got seven good size babys

You could use your spent casings to spawn some straw or poop. My friend did it, check out this link:

If you have an outdoor spot? Throw them in a hole w/some fresh compost & cover it up. Wet down now & then if the spot is dry. You might get some outdoor shrooms.............. maybe, if what you throw in is not to contam'ed. SixTango
