According to the few peeps I am getting Pod advice from, they all agree 7 cakes is the most you can fit in the pod properly. Although if you read the myco-tek website it says the new models can now house up to 12 1/2-pint cakes.
I plan on putting 7 in the pod and casing my remaining 3 jars.
Best of luck!

I'm not sure what happened to the gallery on the Myco-Tek site...but most Pods in the pics had 6 or 7 cakes in them each as well. Probably depends on the size of the jars you use to make your cakes too. I'd assume at least 1-2" between cakes just like for a terrarium would be a safe guess.
I'm ordering my desktop pod tomorrow...can't wait! hehehe

yeah I heard a rumor that myco-tek went paranoid. he took down alot of shit on his site.....no customer pictures and no support forum. he also asked Thor to delete his name and all his posts. think he had a paranoid trip on too many mushrooms....lolzzz I think he's going ligid <SP he even has a link to Stamets page to get spores.....edible ones.....lolzzzzzz
go look >>click here
next thing you know he will pull his ad banner down off the shroomery!
myco-tek if you read this......your pod customers aren't gonna be happy with your choices. hope you are sending everyone instructions on how to put the pod together. since those were on the support forum! I'd like to have them sent to me.....cause I think I'll sell mine!

Does this mean the Pods are not going to be sold any more?!?!?! NO!!!!!!
I just got my money and was gonna overnight mail my order in like an hour!!
I hope we can still order from him!!!
I can understand why taking down pictures of cubes being grown in his product off his website...that actually makes sense to me. But can't legal strains of mushies be grown on cake cultures? Why not just replace the gallery with legal shrooms growing in them?
Right now being safer than sorry is a good way to approach the hobby...I just hope you're not stopping the whole business!!! I want a Hydra-Pod!!!
This is my luck this week...I get laid off...I sell some dj gear....get the money order for such sales this morning via FedEx and am now ready to buy a Pod and now this!!

MM,
Do you know if they'll still be selling Pods? I wrote to them at two of the contact emails on the website...but no replies have come back yet.
I'm sitting here waiting to just use PayPal...but don't want to order one if they're no longer going to be selling them.
Anyone know what the tea is?

The truth is that I have recently learned that offering support to those users who are using my products to produce illegal substances is a very dangerous and careless thing to do since I can be held accountable in the event that a problem arises on that user's end. This is a very real issue and one that I am unfortunately dealing with right now.
I was requested by an attorney to remove and discontinue the forums as well as the pictures that were being used to promote the pod's ability to produce those particular mushrooms. There is no reason that I should risk anybody's safety (mainly myself and my direct family!) by continuing to promote my product in this manner. That is the bottom line. Provisions are being made as we speak to create a gallery featuring gourmet and medicinal mushrooms in the Hydra-Pod, and I will never again use the other types to promote my products.
I would suggest to any vendor that they seriously reconsider following the same sort of promotional and service-related actions that I have with Mycotek in the recent past since it can and likely will end up coming back on your business resulting in a definite negative outcome. I strongly suggest that vendor's take my advice on this and at least TALK to an attorney about how you are operating your business before plunging blindly into this sort of unchartered business practice. I am 100% certain that an attorney will advise that the same or similar action be taken in order to prevent any undesirable issues that can and likely will arise due to the nature of this "hobby".
Bare in mind that the authorities who enforce these laws surrounding this issue do not (in the least bit) consider what you all do here a "hobby"!!!! Not even close!!!!
My advice; be honest to yourself when it comes to dealing with these issues and most importantly, be safe in your business practice so you will not have to worry about the cops bustin' down your door some day! Cool support forums and pics of cubs are absolutely not worth the trouble that they can (and likely will) bring you and your business. This is why Mycotek is and will continue to operate in a 100% legitimate fashion. period.
This is not about being paranoid. This is about the reality of dealing in the business that we are all involved in here as vendors of this so-called "hobby" or "art" as it is often referred to around here, which is actually a very complex and dangerous issue that should not be taken carelessly in my experience.

I personally think, considering how the US environment and "war on drugs" is right now, that that is the most mature and reasonable course of action you could take. I support your decision and product 100%.
Best wishes on continued success!
