2nd attempt is a bust

Please if someone can help me out here.. I thought I did everthing right this time.
I had 12 1/2 pint jars bought pre-filled/sterilized BRF from micronmagic I innoculated all 12 with 3 syringes from sporeworks (mazatapec, ecuador, PR) Syringes were cleaned with lighter and alcohol swab. I covered the tops of each with a small square of foil. Jars were then placed in an incubator.
The incubator was made from 2 large rubbermaid tubs. One filled halfway with water and 1 cup hydrogen peroxide, and a fish tank heater on the bottom set to 82F. The second tub was set inside, then the jars placed in the 2nd tub. Tub was covered with blanket.
This has been sitting in my room for over a month, and not one of the jars has finished. Once the bottom half looked complete, i flipped the jars. Now i see 4 of them have green on the mycelium. I'm really upset, I thought things were going well. Please someone throw me a line!

Sounds like you did everything right to me. Do you have a thermometer in the incubator? What does it read? I dont know what could have went wrong but, a month seems like wayyy to long for half pint jars. Why dont you just make you own substrate instead of buying it. It probally would be cheaper, and now you already have 12 jars.

Yeah, maybe the stuff wasn't sterile to begin with. I just hate to buy a pressure cooker... :/
I took 3 of the cakes that were about 80% done and threw them in my terrium. Can I expect to see any growth out of them?
Thanks!

In reply to:

That's why they contaminated. I had the exact same thing happen, some green, some grey. Don't buy jars from Mycotek!

I have put unfinished cakes into a humid terrarium and had success. The growth is a lot quicker than the final stages of taking over the jar in the terrarium. The only worry is of course contamination so avoid opening the terrarium atall.

pressure cookers are for yuppies... take your moms 3 piece steamer. put just enough water in it to cover like half an inch of your bottom jars. then put as many jars as you can fit in it. ( i can get 6) then boil the water and after it starts boiling wait an hour, remove the jars and put your other 6 in. wait til the next morning and innoculate those fuckers, but use the oven tek. i haven't had any contam's yet. good luck.

How much were the jars? a pressure cooker would be a good investment no matter what, since it has other uses as well (damn good roast ) if your not sure your going to stick with the hobby just try a cheap one from Xmart or a Goodwill store are always good to check
