Pressure cooker question
    #781643 - 07/28/02 08:04 AM (21 years, 6 months ago)

My mom is getting very suspicious about me constantly borrowing her pressure cooker. So, I've decided to purchase my own. I have narrowed the choice down to 2 models, the Presto 15.5 Qt. and the All American 15.5 Qt. The All American is around $35 more than the Presto. So, any suggestions on which one to get? Is the All American worth the $35 more?

all american pressure cookers are probably better for long term use....it doesnt have a seal to worry about, and it has a pretty bad ass guage so you can adjust it. but i have red about alot of people using the presto cookers. so i guess its up to your budget:)

edit was due to mis-spelling:)

If your going to do this for a few months (?), go with the Presto.

If your going to do this for years to come & want a PC that you can pass on to your next generation go with the AA.

The Raccoon acquired a 941 AA that was made about 1939. The gauge was replaced once ($15). Other than that, it works as well as the day it was new & will outlast the Raccoon -- by generations.

LOL, I can see it now, another generation stating "you know what great grampa used to do with that thing? ".

Not a one size fits all world (ask any woman - ). Whatever brand PC it is you have, is who to order a replacement gauge from. SixTango
