Pressure Cooker Question

sorry bout previous message it posted right when I typed the subject....too stoned. Any who back to my question. I have been using the pot/steaming method for quite awhile now, but I would like to move on to Rye and other substrates. I have been to Target and Walmart and the only pressure cookers I see have a safety release thingy on the front rated at 10 psi. Does this mean that it will not cook the jars at 15 psi? If anyone knows where I could get a pressure cooker that will work please let me know. The only problem is I'm broke. So I just need the smallest size available...Thanks for any replies!

Cool that one goes up to 15 psi?? Great man! (or woman as the case may be) One more PC question, can I stack the jars inside of it? B/c with my current pot, I just put some towels in the bottm, water, and the jars on top. I only can do 4 jars at once without stacking them on top of each other, which I haven't tried yet. Does it work at all?

I realize that 8 qts is small, but I can barely afford the $40 for that one...let alone $80 + shipping. I do plan on upgrading to a larger size eventually though. Thank you for the info on stacking the jars, I was not sure if it would close the jars too much or something, thanks!

I got it! It wasn't 8 qt though, the 6 qt was on sale for $40...but its big enough for me. No big plans here, just a hobby. Anywho, whoever has this, how do I use it? It has instructions for cooking, but no way of setting the psi, what do I do? Edit... ok reading through the instructions again helped. Think I've got it figured out...I thought there was a place you were supposed to set the psi. It automatically does it on this one. THX for answering all my Q's. Elendril
