Looked in FAQ, but still a casing ?
    #780759 -

So, I cased them about 2 weeks ago. I made a mistake though and put the 1/2 inch of wet vermiculite over the cubes before letting them start to grow again. it's now been 2 weeks and the fullest one looks to be about half colinized. I want to say it's just because of what i did, but i just wanna make sure. Am i going to be ok?

Could you rephrase your question?

not sure what you mean here. From the Shroomery FAQ on casing:
The term "casing" as it is used in the mushroom cultivation is the method by which substrate (either PF style cakes or colonized grain) is crumbled into smaller pieces, and covered with a non -nutritive layer such as peat, vermiculite, coco coir and different mixtures with additives. How do I case? Casing is a simple process. You crumble your substrate, layer it in an appropriate container, and cover with your casing layer.

moistening vermiculite an applying it to the substrate is what you want to do. Depending on the depth of your casing and substrate, you might just be experiencing slow growth. Wait a bit, see what happens.

Possibly do you mean that you cased the substrate before it was fully colonized, or mabe you broke up the fully colonized cake and didnt let the pieces recover before putting the casing on?. If it wasnt fully colonized, then you may run the risk of contaminiants, But not letting the mycelia chunks recover before casing them isnt to crucial, it just takes a few days longer. bluhoney
