How important is physical attractiveness to you when it comes to your mate?

It is very popular to talk about how we don't "judge a book by its cover" and how we look at people for what they are on the inside. But, let's be realistic and honest (after all....we're anonymous in here). If you're a guy would you reproduce with an ugly girl even if she was a great person? Or would you women be willing to reproduce with a nice and smart guy who was short, balding, over-weight, with bad teeth, etc..

How important is physical attractiveness to you? How much does it play in your decision to decide to be with someone or to have children with someone?

Well, I'm not just referring to casual interaction with the opposite sex...I'm also referring to long-term commitment. If you met the most wonderful person on the planet but they were ugly would you be with them? Would you be happy?

Well, I fell in love with my fiencee the first time I saw her. But I don't think it was all her appearance, it was... well, the way she smiled when she first looked at me.

I don't know.

I wouldn't ever have a relationship with someone that was not appealing to me mentally. Or sex without a relationship.

But I would have a relationship with someone that wasn't pretty in the sense, but appealed to me mentally.

I think that it's more of what you're attracted to that you'll accept. It's not always the traditional features, and maybe if you're attracted to the girl, you'll see her features as being the most attractive of all.

I know I have.

I put the utmost importance on physical appearence... doesn't it feel good to have the girl that everyone else wants but you have her. it was like when I was 5 and had the best GI Joes

I'm a dude by the way. I care a lot about physical appearances. I have to be attracted to someone physically if I am going to be in a relationship with them, if they don't have that, it's just going to remain at the friendship level.

In my opinion, men do care more about physical appearances than women, I've noticed that a lot of women will downplay the physical attraction if the guy is a wonderful person. I don't think guys are as lenient in this regard though.

I have no problem with short people (even midgets on this one) or tall and lanky, or anything like that

I'm not turned away by missing appendages / or crooked fucken teeth / or retardation...or anything like that

I can do the psychotic ones / the boring ones / the geeks / the preps / the ones with no personality

but I CAN NOT do a fatty

They get fat after you settle down, and you lose attractiveness to them after time always..

so what im saying is you better start off with A+++ so after they get fat they are still good looking. You start off bad, and it gets ugly real quick

I'm only attracted to Asians.

If the girl isn't basically new (almost virgin), committed, asian, then no. But her appearance doesn't matter that much. Although a decent girl is probably almost necessary... I'm not going substandard. But I'm also not high standard.

Anyway, no problem. I achieved it and got the best of all. Score!

As I get to know someone and their true nature comes out I see them differently.

Female here. If I meet a person and they are gorgeous on the outside but not on the inside in a short while I don't find them attractive at all. If I meet someone just so-so but they are great on the inside or (especially) can make me laugh they become extremely attractive to me.

For me what's on the inside counts! But I'll have to be honest and say that I have never dated a really ugly guy. So it still matters a little bit.
