Being a weed dealer

Many years ago I thought that I would try to make some money by selling weed. I started out buying an ounce here and there and breaking it up into 1/8's. I made a little money but not enough to make it worth my while. Then I bought some pounds at various times. Inevitably, the weed I got ahold of was of substandard quality (beaster, schwag, over-priced mid-grade, etc..). Looking back, I made no money. By the time I factored in all of the time, effort, and bullshit I went through (people not paying me back for months and shit like that) it just wasn't worth it. I pretty much broke even.
I came to the conclusion that the only people who make money selling weed are people who grow or people who run large-scale retail operations (like the delivery services in NYC, etc..).

You can definitely make good money if you're buying it by the pound + but you have to be smart about it. First of all you need to be able to get decent quality shit at a good price. If you don't have a good connection then no of course you won't be able to make much. Second you need to form a very solid customer base of people like yourself who were just buying an ounce or two at a time and flipping eighths. Third never front to anybody unless you know damn well they're going to pay you back in a reasonable amount of time (within a few days at most). It's not rocket science by any means. If you build it they will come and business will be good. In time you'll meet new people, expand, start making more money, and hopefully not get nailed in the process.

You can make plenty of money... heres a simple breakdown...
You buy a QP at 850 (good quality bud in my area)
Break it down into grams, 1/8ths, 14/s and maybe a few halves and .5s
Assuming you make 10 dollars on the gram, you would sell that QP (114 grams) for 1140 dollars, give or take say 100 dollars. You could get a profit of 100-200 dollars depending on how fast it moves...
this is also assuming your grams are 1.0

I've made $5000 dollars over a period of a few months. I started out with $60 dollars. This also included living expenses. I guess I have to add I don't smoke so that really makes the big difference.

Original Poster here. I guess the problem in my area is that weed is over-priced because there is never enough to satisfy demand. So, people are always charging too much even for wholesale amounts. Good quality weed is outrageously priced and hard to get ahold of. Garbage schwag is over-priced as well and it is all over the place because there isn't enough good weed. If you came to my area with a shitload of killer weed for good prices you'd be a millionaire in several days.

Its like anything - you just gotta know the right people.
Back in the day a foaf started at the bottom of the chain within a few years he was near the top of it and making more money than a professional I.T job per week just for sitting in the flat getting stoned.
Occasionally you get some shit. Occasionally you gotta kick some ass but if you know what you are doing even small time ops can make alot of easy money.
The foaof used to make $160 just by selling 2 ounces. That was basically about 12 deal per week (sold mostly as quarters and 8ths)which is not big time at all.
If you have a full time job too then you get rich pretty quick.

You have to be pretty stoopid to not at least break even.

I only sell to break even and get an ounce or two for free. Plus, it's good to hook up friends with decent bud so you don't always have to pack the bowls!
Plus, you're everybody's favorite person.

There is a lot more money in growing mushrooms. You can still make a decent living selling bud, and you can make a great living growing if you have a house or have a lot of balls.

I was the same way when I started selling bud, started to supply myself with smoke. Then I realized how much money could be made if I wasn't smoking up all of the profit and I quit smoking. Plus it wasn't really agreeing with me anymore anyway so it was win win. I don't sell anymore either though.

Someone very close to me once had the world by the balls. A brand new monte carlo, nice house, cover job, a damn good amount of money in the bank, and a beautiful woman all at only 20 years old. Then one day it all came crashing down. His connect along with everybody else under him who was involved got popped due to a 6 month investigation by the DEA. He's still in prison today. I'm just thankful every day I had got out long before the investigations started. If it weren't for my kid I probably never would have quit and would be sitting in prison too.

What I was trying to say with that last post is that there are a lot of risks and to anybody whose thinking about getting into selling please consider the risks involved and be safe.

That's what I did too, back when I sold it. I got snitched out though.

It's a crazy world man... I've been in and out of it since I got into high school. You can move any amount and make nothing or everything... you can cruise easy with no stress or go down hard out of nowhere. It's the craziest gambling there is. When you go big and lose it all, you don't just end up broke... but with your freedom indefinitely lost.
It's a thing one can easily get sucked into... the drugs, the excitement, the money... it's a life style one can become addicted to.
It starts with slingin eighths and moves up to pounds. Then you have the capital and the customer base that you branch out to mushrooms and LSD when you can find it due to the demand. Then from there you realize the profit you can make off of ecstasy if you get jars and boats. Then you're stepping into the hard drug game you never intended on touching. You're making thousands a week and realize you could double it if you start picking up keys of yay from your boy in the next big city.
All of a sudden you're on the DEA radar, get snitched and raided and spend the next 15-20 years in federal prison. Shit happens.

I knew a guy that was into the club/rave scene and was an aspiring dj. He knew lots of fellow DJ's coming into the scene and could put a party together with all the contacts he had. He ends up falling on top of an X hookup of the century. He got somewhere around 400 tabs for $10 and let them go for $25 each. The guy ended up buying some really nice turntables and a great mixer and some nice dj equipment with his profits. Three weeks later, someone busts down his door in his apt while he was gone and took all his shit. Turned out to be his unknown X competitor. He was too scared to even go to the cops at that point. So, he put himself through all that risk for nothing in the end but a lesson learned the hard way.

If you're going to be in the game, you best have about 5 grand of money in cash stuck aside out of the eyes of the feds. This will be used to pay your lawyer. You should also have a lawyer on retainer and know the law to the T.
Also, you should be in the best shape of your life. You need to know how to Drive Good, Blend good, Fight good, Fuck Good and Run Good.
I once knew a dealer who had several people that ran his crack buisness for him. He paid all of their gym memberships and checked all of their gym logs weekly. If they weren't working out, he stopped fronting to them.
The guy had a 8ft high fence around his house and bars on his windows and a 10 Quart pot of water boiling on his stove at all times. He didn't use and the only evidence he had in his house was crack and powder on a large flexible cuttingboard on the table. More than once, the police busted his barred up door down and he had to dump crack into the boiling water and pour it down the sink. He's oldschool and hard core.....
He once got shot by a crackhead with a .22 pistol while he was outside his house working in the yard. The first shot got him, the second one missed, and the third shot jammed. He took the gun away from the dude and clocked him across the face with it and knocked his ass out cold and called the police. The police arrived and took the guy to jail and tried to take the dealer to the hospital since he had a hole through his shoulder and he told them that he would wait until his momma got off work and get her to take him.....
People in the game that have been in the game for a long time are hardcore.
If you get into this game, and you're cover is blown and you get a conviction, there isn't much of a future for you except in the game. It's the second most important decision you will ever make.

Small time = little moneys
Still fun though, and you get to get high all the time for absolutely nothing.

Theres a shit load of money to be made off coke. Thats very risky business though especially if you get hooked to the shit, the risks are quadrupled when compared to selling weed.

I was in crime with a friend who was addicted to coke. We could pick up an oz for $400, and sell grams for $35 and balls for $100-125.
You do the math, we never made any money, it was all snorted up, spent at strip clubs, or on hotel rooms.
If you are going to take the risk, you need a business plan and no bad habits.

It's all about calculating the risks. See what you can make off of it, and stop in time that if you were to get busted you'd still be young enough when you got out of prison to pursue a different career. If you're 30 and selling coke, you get busted and get out when you're 45, it's a little late to get back into the legal game.
