this girl I was working with mentioned some shit about how she got turned away for trying to buy em because of her age, and that just didn't seem right to me

i don't have any citations for this but i've heard of legal cases over the legality of an individual store owner to refuse the sale of controceptives to minors.

I dunno...they always got them signs up that say they reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, so I would guess that from a legal standpoint they can get away with it

i can put up a disclaimer that i reserve the right to stab nuns with forks, but that dosen't give me such a right. it is actualy unlawful, in business, to discriminate on the basis of age.

Here in Michigan, I see stores that have them both behind the counter and out in the aisles. I remember when I was 15 going into the gas station to buy condoms, the clerks were always wry of selling them to me. I never got ID but I did get "how old are you, aren't you a little young?" and always the dirty looks.

If I were ever ID'd while buying condoms I would show them my ID and let them ring me up and grab a whole shit ton of candy, magazines, and w/e else they had at the register and have them ring that up too. Then after they total it out I would tell them to fuck off and take my leave.

Refusing to sell condoms to somebody is just fucking dumb. I don't care if the person is 15. I could bust a nut at 15, I don't see why they should be refused condoms.

People who refuse the sale of condoms to minors should be castrated with a white hot rusty coathanger.
