do tampanensis/mexicana/atlantis fruit better with developed sclerotia ?
    #7684612 - 11/27/07 05:19 AM (16 years, 2 months ago)

so im currently growing mex-a and the grains are ready to be cased, sclerotia are also starting to form.

i was wondering if there was some data if they fruit better if there already is a
large ammount of developed sclerotia in the grains or if it does not seem to matter.

It doesn't really seem to matter. I've found that if you have perfect conditions for fruiting, you get little to no sclerotia formation and a great deal of mushrooms. If the conditions are not ideal (and this varies with strain) you get lots of sclerotia forming in the casing and few to no mushrooms. Usually you get something inbetween so its always a good idea to sort through your substrate and casing after the grow is done to harvest the bonus material.
