Placebo Bio said he got his cultures from Elixer 27.50 USD and now sells it for 100.00 USD, Elixer got there cultures from a micologist who got his culture from DSMZ in Germany and they carry 2 strains, DSM NO.1631, DSM NO.1898 psilicobye mexicana heim. No telling how many times it has been transfered.Bio, Just because it produced a pinhead and aborted does not mean it is a viable strain. If you can't get it to produce a fully formed fruitbody capable of bearing spores it maynot be a viable culture. my understanding is your culture will not produce sclerotia which is a sign that degeneration has begun! Richard, Yes I agree Paul Stamets edibles are of the highest quaility with guarantee of viability. ------------------ AARON I don't know what happened. I must have walked into a spore. FMRC (Florida Mycology Research Center) sells prints of P. Mexicana, which probably means they fruited it. It is 50$ per a small print. They also sell a back issue of The mushroom Culture magazin, which has exact and full information on how to cultivate Mexi's (including fruiting it). TMC #19 has cultivation information on Mexicana, TMC #25 has some culture tips on it, in TMC #41 they even have a color photo of it. One thing you cant do is call or email and ask them about Psilocybe species. They will not answer anything psychoactive. Other than that, they are very cool...Later, tweedy.

Tweedy are you Peele or just on his payroll. FMRC, and its owner Peele, is the biggest ripoff. Dont go near this company as it is anything but "cool". Of course if you like to waste money sending it to FMRC a very efficent way to do so.

FMRC is the biggest rip off I have ever seen. I got involved with Peele many years ago...joined his club...all to try to get p. mexicana. Bought his spores and all I got was a great variety of contaminants and no mycelium. For those of you that know of my mycolab, you know it is set up well and I have over 20 years of experience. FMRC's prints are the only ones in that time that I could not do something with. FMRC has a great guarantee policy...which meant nothing when Peele wouldn't respond to my request for either a new print or my money back. Stay away from FMRC.------------------ Need a Cultivation Tek, Growing Parameter or are you interested in Spirituality? Come to Mage's EntheoMycology Site" at http://www.shroom-mage.com

Okay I think the only thing left to do is have someone pick this mushroom... Does anyone know where in Mexico one is likely to find P. Mexicana... SPECIFICALLY! Not just a general broad area!

YES,and it would explain why it is not making sclerotia and fruitbodies.
