Slowing down the fruiting
    #1460640 - 04/15/03 04:18 PM (15 years, 13 days ago)

SWIM has four nice casings that are all at various stages of pinning/fruiting. She has been heating the terrarium with a heating pad as it has been very cold in her room as of late (64-68 degrees F) and air exchange with an aquarium bubbler and the casings have been loving these warm conditions.

Unfortunately, she will be heading out of town for 4 days, beginning tomorrow, with nobody to properly harvest the crop. She was wondering if turning off the heat while leaving the bubbler bubbling would effectively slow the fruit development without adversely affecting the mushrooms too much?

The pins in question are about an inch long.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would slow them down but they would still probably be ready before then even at that temperature. It won't adversely effect them though.

they should be ready by the time she gets back, some of them might have upturned caps, but that isn't neccessarily (sp) a problem.
