Figuring out a Major

I'm having a "Major" crisis. I can't figure out what I want to do with my life. I currently have a major but I am considering changing because I do not think I will be happy with the one im in now. For some reason though, I can't figure out what I would be happy with for the rest of my life.
I was thinking... could I take a g of mushies, maybe meditate, and come to some conclusion?

It can't hurt.
Go out, have fun, come back or don't.
Don't get piss drunk, what I mean is, go out and do something interesting.
For me it was moving to China to be with my beautiful girlfriend, but for you it might be something a bit smaller.

This is one thing you have in common with just about everyone in a similar situation as you. Most of the people who have made firm decisions about their future probably suffer just as much anxiety, and the ones who still have no clue far outnumber the ones who do.

In my opinion, this could be helpful.
At a defining point in my life I took an 8th of mushrooms and had a really scary trip, and when it was over I felt relief and a certain clarity in my direction. HOWEVER, the decisions I made in the days, weeks, and months following led me down a different path than I could ever have envisioned. So if you do gain insight, don't cling to it against the winds of change. In this life it seems we have to be pretty open to new circumstances and new experiences as they present themselves, and we often have to let go of paths we thought we were going to walk all the way.
Good luck as you consider your next moves. Meditate deeply on the role you play to your family and friends, on living a compassionate life, and on what kind of situations you wish to see manifested in this life.

You should become a Geologist.
It's really quite awesome.
It pretty much combines everything from every other major into one ginormous scientific nerd-fest.
Try it sometime.

I'm in the same boat man. It sucks. I wish I could tell you something to make things better but I can't.

1st decision you need to make.
do you want to be a scholar/academic, or do you want to be a businessman?

Go through all the Majors your school offers. Eliminate the ones you don't want. Create a list of 5 your are interested in, research these fields and their opportunities. See what interests you most. Remember you can still take classes in other fields, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to major in something because it is interesting. I had the same dilemma, mushrooms didn't help, but I have narrowed the career field down to two majors. Also, don't forget the often overlooked minor!

Being a business man is probably 1/10th the work, and you will make a shit-ton more money.

i must say i cant agree that businessmen work less.
no matter which path is chosen hours slaving away when you dont want to be are guaranteed.

IMOP what I would do is goto the local community collage and get your associates, just go for general study till you can get a better grasp on what you want to do.
Also worse case you have a somewhat degree and if you plan to transfer to another collage most your credits will transfer

You can start as a scholar though and cross over to business.
Go into pharmacology. Study drugs for a living, then work for big pharma and make some money.

Hehe, I was actually thinking of Pharmacology , and geology. Not into business though...
I am 99% sure that I want to get into the natural sciences, however.
To the geologist, is there anyway I can contact you, to see what its like, and what you are up to (assuming you are a geologist...)

You can PM me, madtowntripper, here at the Shroomery. That is most definitely the easiest way to get in touch with me.
