Anonymous said: think of it this way, if you were a cop and 2 phone calls came in you had to answer to one of them, which would you pick of the following...
a) a call from a woman crying how her husband was being attacked by a group of black people in a poor part of town b) someone called because they saw their neighbor and his friends smoking weed and doing who knows else in their own back yard
durrr
you're an idiot. You seriously think that given these two calls, the cop would even get the choice?

Cops can be pricks but I can understand why.
It's fair to say some of them are decent people who are really out there to protect you and me, and some of them are lazy assholes with huge self-esteem issues who'd rather abuse drug-users than actually help anyone. They both follow the same set of rules when it comes down to it, albeit occasionally in different ways.
So you've got a little bit of the people that's fucked up, a little bit of the system that's fucked up, and when they come together you have the problem so many of us lament.

Yup.
Some of you kiddies don't know how easy you have it. Anarchy would eat you alive, but at least you could smoke a joint without a hassle
The police are necessary to live the way you live.

I guess I am just fortunate to live in an area where the cops aren't dicks. I speak at the Highschool about not using crack/coke,heroin and oxycontin and they cops are pretty cool about it. They even tell the kids they don't care about pot and they let me tell them that I am an avid smoker and I even suggested they smoke weed over drink or doing hard drugs. They are just concerned about people dying and they don't screw with anyone. They let me go with a box of needles and a bunch of empty heroin bags. They actually gave me the box of shit they collected and told me to throw it out when I got home. I ended up getting popped with a bundle of h that really wasn't mine. I was dopesick and didn't know it was in my car. Rather than just being a scratch on someones goal sheet one of the detectives pointed out that I wouldn't have been sick had I known they were there and I wouldn't have had anything left if they were mine so the arresting cop wouldn't drop it cuz he was a dick but the other cop talked to the sgt that was acting DA for the case and requested a suspended sentence instead because he believed me. With the 72 prior charges on my record and in a different state, one that is very tough on drugs, I could have gotten like 3-5yrs since I just did 5 so I am glad that they are not all like you guys make them out to be. My 2 yrs suspended for 2yrs is almost up or just got up so I am either free or almost free....I don't remember when I am off!

3 years in Florida prison for possession of 1 ounce of marijuana
You are right, the police are necessary to the way drug users live, IN PRISONS

Well heres a common sense lesson for you, SIR.
I wouldn't be speaking out the way I do if I wasn't clean
There shouldn't be a law against marijuana when alcohol that is 10x more toxic is legal. It is their bodies to do with as they wish.
Anyway, I don't critisize REAL cops, I critisize babysitters.
Know the difference, cops protect society, cops hate and want to arrest rapists, burglars, armed robbers, car thieves, drunk drivers.
Babysitters want to arrest a guy with a stem and/or a seed on the floorboard in the car.
Babysitters are the ones that arrest people for personal use drugs then rationalize it by saying this will reduce crime. Arresting criminals reduces crime, duhh.

So... because some existing laws are asinine, that means there should be no police? Please explain your logic.
Nobody is trying to argue that the drug war is a good thing. Please describe for us the vision you have of a society with no law enforcement.

Obviously I'm arguing with those who think the police do nothing for them. I don't know who you are or what else you posted.

Police officers are very nice people. Please email your current address and involvement with the drug culture to jshultz@cpd.com so we can discuss this further.

Ahhhhh, they sell stone cutting tools, what an obvious association with masonry.
Well, I'm sure Master Masons will pay me a visit now, I am a cowan so they will most likely kill me with 3 blows to the head with a mallet.
