help me come up with an idea for a scriptwriting/performance class
    #7678553 -

hey guys... my final performance is coming up soon and i have to have a script for tomorrow.

it should show off blocking and staging as well as be a good piece, and be 4-6 mins. long, and it's a solo performance so it should probably be a monologue.

i'm not into movies and i don't read much out of school so i really have no ideas
thanks!

Post what you did for your previous ones for some general reference.

solos very difficult. seeing as you'll be doing it solo, reflection is the way to go. thinking back on an event and wondering where it all went wrong. could be anything from a bank robbery, to losing a special someone. being robbed of something you hold dear. accidentally killing someone. something that shows emotions.

like if we take the example of a bank robbery you could go from anger, to panic, some flashes of anger again perhaps then on to despair? finally enlightenment to see what he did was wrong. or perhaps deciding on suicide cause the pressure is too much for him?

hope something in that can be of use

before I did a scene from the big lebowski (not a solo) and then a speech by Dr. Stanislav Grof (something has to die to be reborn) so I'd like to stay away from psychedelic stuff.

I'm more looking for something just from a play or a movie. I don't have to write the script, just something I can copy/paste and then practice.

How about something from "High Fidelity" or "About a Boy"?
Both main characters have lots of monologues, and neither movie is trippy.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
