so here i am... sending an application to the stuttgart university for music and arts... i wanna study drama... well it would all be good but the problem is i have to pass an admission exam, which is in july...
for this exam i have to prepare 3 monologues of my choice and present them to the auditors... considering this is theater drama i already chose my first 2 monologues:
- Ferdinand from "Kabal and Love" (Friedrich Shiller) - Mercutio from "Romeo & Julia" (Schakespeare)
sooooooooo for my last monologue i was thinking i would take something out of a movie... but monologues are an extremely rare thing in movies... "adaptation" has lots of monologues but im not quite sure...
so my question is: does any of you have any ideas or good monologues out of a movie? any help would be appreciated...
all the light ingo

a monologue is like a dialogue, only that you speak alone [mono=one ; dia(comes from due)=two] ... so a monologue is a scene where an actor is basically alone and speaks "to himself"... like a short speech... in movies monologues are mostly the actor's thoughts... a monologue can also be a part where an actor speaks to other people, but in this speech he gets no response until the end... i hope i could explain this well...

One monologue that comes to mind is in the movie "Talk Radio" starring Eric Bogosian. It comes towards the end of the movie and its addressed to his entire radio audience but there is no implied response, just dead air. Its somewhat lengthy but very powerful.
