Hi, all the info i found on the site is about how to preserve dried mushrooms, lets say after i harvest my mushrooms i want to keep them fresh for a while? the mushrooms that you buy in the supermarket(you know mushrooms you can eat and not trip on ) are just nylon wrapped and put in the refrigerator.

i hate honey any way,i hate the taste of honey its just too sweet. are there any other ways to preserve fresh mushrooms? i need to keep it fresh for like a week or two.
i just saw this post about cocking them with salt for 30 secs and then putting them in the fridge,is that possible? how long should the mushrooms last in that method?

Not sure if there is another way, one of the reasons honey works so well is becuase its so sweet, nothing will grow in honey.

Yeah I agree...why keep em fresh? to impress your friends? They'll be plenty impressed with the madness that ensues...
Put them in a black t-shirt with a lamp overtop (8-12 inches away) and within 24-36 hrs. they'll be cracker dry. For real.

As far as i know freezing damages the shrooms, as they are 90% water, the expanding water bursts the cells

Frozen mushrooms defrost into a mush, but maybe freezing with dry ice can get the mushrooms to below ice crystal forming temperature fast enough they don't mush up. Can be worth a try with a few specimens
