How long can you keep shrooms fresh? Are they like any other mushroom where they are fine for a week or two in the fridge?

they don't stay fresh for long. If u want to preserve them, u have to dry them. See the Magic Mushroom Growers Guide for the best way to dry them. If u don't want to do that, then put them on a screen and keep a fan on them, also try to keep them out of the light, because it can make them change nasty colors.

Drying is the best way to preserve shrooms, but has anybody tried to vacuum store shrooms with successful results? Seems like something that would work well...

Vacuum storage is the best source of long term storage.

Vacuum seal and leave in a cool place.

I was surprised that this isn't mentioned as a way of storing mushrooms long term anywhere, but has worked wonders for a duck anus friend of mine.

You can always freeze them. Keep forever that way.Watch out for freezer burn though. Have some excess water so as to prevent that.
