Short-term Fresh Mushroom Storage...

I have looked in the FAQ for information on storing fresh mushrooms. I've read something about plastic bags, and then something else that suggests that you use paper bags that will breathe, instead of plastic bags.. What is the best method for storing fresh mushrooms for a few weeks? I assume it involved refrigeration. I just don't want the mushes to rot.

Dry em...I don't think there's any way you can keep them fresh for weeks. Either store in honey, or cut em really thin and dry em.

haha short-term is a couple weeks??

i was thinkin u meant like a couple days lol...

just dry them.. why not?? it will take less than when u will want them again.. so wuts the big deal...

Paper bag in the fridge for 4 days max will work, don't use a plastic bag. Otherwise, just set them on a paper plate and point a fan at them for about 12 hours. That will get them dry enough to store for a few weeks, any longer than that you should use the dessicant technique to remove all of the water.

For those of you who  don't know:
PLEASE Don''t talk about selling mushrooms!
It's 1) against shroomery rules, 2) harmful to the OMC community
and 3) just bad form.
Everyone knows they're valueable. no need to point that out.
After you grow for a while, you'll still want  them to grow, but
for other reasons than money(hopefully).
