it is getting very hot now. but i found two cubes on friday afternoon in the shade in the same spot i had two days earlier found a few mushrooms similar to what you described with the white gills..

..lets get a picture of those..

i held that big one to the sky and almost cried with joy to find that thing..

and cube hunter, theyll dry themselves. to speed the process up you can use a fan blowing on them for a few days in a dark well ventilated room.

nice pics great one. thanks for teaching me some stuff, i read a lot of stuff about preserving them. drying them like you said is conveinient for me. do i need all that freon stuff? what's wrong with oxygen and plastic bags?
