UK Liberty Cap hunt report

Well, as promised here is my report of my latest foray for Liberty Caps.
Date: 3rd, 4th, 5th, of November Location: Shropshire, England
A search of my usual spots which in past years have yielded several thousand of libs was very dissapointing. I only found 2 single shrooms. So I had to go a little further afield, to areas where I don't normally have to bother with.
However, it was well worth it. I came across a field known to us as "the golden field", and it didn't dissapoint. It is a large area of grass, which is well watered due to the fact that it is at the bottom of a large hill, so it gets a lot of runoff. It is constantly grazed with sheep, and has quite of lot of sedge grass on it too (refelecting that fact that it is well watered).
On my frst day of hunting, it had rained on the previous night, which meant that the libs were darker in colour so a little more tricky to spot, however, after 4 hours of hunting, I picked over 1000 shrooms. The following 2 days hunts were even better due to the fact that the sun had dried the caps out more, so they shone out like little creamy beacons.. beckoning me to pick them.
In the latter two picking sessions, I picked another 2000+.
So, overall, 3000+ libs picked in approx 8 hours (pick rate of 375 shrooms per hour.). I have taken a few photos and will try and post them soon.
I would say however that the UK has still had a bad year for picking, as many of my normal spots, which are "closer to home" yeilded little or nothing. But saying that.. my hunt proves that there's still shrooms out there if you know where to look.
