Composted Vs. Uncomposted manure. What's the Diff?

I can get composted cow manure by the truckload, but I can't find a source for uncomposted.
How is composted different from uncomposted for growing shrooms.
The composted manure is locally shat and composted.

I think composted manure is manure that has basically been thrown in a big pile and let sit for long periods of time... If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

I knew that!
I guess I should have been more specific. I want to know what are the differences as to how well shrooms will grow on it.
Is one better than the other, or are they both just as good?
Is one more contam resistant than the other?
Stuff like that.

I imagine fresh shit is the best, sinced it hasnt been festering in a pile for who knows how long. I am currently using the bagged shit you buy at lowes or walmart for a bottom layer, and fresh cow manure for a top layer. I am growing outdoors.. We'll see how it works in a few weeks...

The diff is that fresh dung usualy has lots of ammonia, intestinal bacteria and other unsavory things in it, that have not died or disipated away. You want it aged -- dryed enough that it does not smell of ammonia at all & is not wet, nor smell to much like shit. Otherwise it is too raw. Like whiskey, at least a little ageing does it lot of good.
Hell, anybody with a back yard or patio can compost 100 pounds of substrate relativly fast. Use a 45 gallon Rubbermaid wheeled garbage can -- outside. Drill a lot of 1/4 inch holes in it on the sides & bottom. Fill with a layer of straw, dung, straw, dung -- so on & so forth until you reach the top. Make the top layer dung. Take a hose & water it down -- good. Have it set where it can drain without damaging anything.
After a week or 10 days, empty it on a tarp, add some gypsum & mix it in & fill the can with it again. Add more water & week or 2 later you got it. Rotating 2 or 3 cans will keep you in a lot of compost. It's not the best in the world, but is is easy, simple, doesnt stink & is unobtrusive .
Anybody asks, tell em your going to use it in a garden -- somewhere else, if you don't have one .

That's one thing, this manure is probably pretty much completely composted.
I don't yet have an idea of how old it might be, but I do know that it is from local cows.

Get composted! It's manure with bits of straw and other bits of organic waste such as leaves in it.
For example, the nice man (CaptainMax) who makes the horse manure compost I just used puts horse poo, stable shavings, wheat straw, kelp, and seaweed in it. This is a positive organic feast for mushies of all sorts.

Hmmmm.... I wonder how much spawn would be needed for a small truckload.
