nice to read.

only i don't agree on your conclusion about BRF cakes, that they are lower in nutrition (or easily digestable nutrition) as a conclusion from that they take longer to colonise. the water content (for example sawdust bags for shiitake, dryer sawdust colonises faster) and form of the substrate (oyster mycelium likes the form of the inner side of straw, wich makes it colonise it fast if you have the straw compressed well) can have a big effect on how fast a substrate is colonised.
