Cased Miniature Horse Poo Grow (pics & Qs)
    #7602694 - 11/06/07 01:28 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

This is the first flush of birdseed spawned to miniature horse poo. Yes, I have access to miniature horse poop, and it is fantastic. It's cased with the old Stamets standby: buffered peat moss with gypsum. The fruits are some of the biggest I've grown, but I have some questions

1) Any idea on why so many aborts?

2) They good to pick yet? They're big, but I don't see a partial veil forming and the gills are still pale...

3) I think the strain is Golden Teacher, but I could be wrong. Anyone have an idea from the pics?

I have also noticed that bumping up the temperature for pins (like 78) and then bringing it down real low (like 62) seems to result in bigger fruits. Anyone confirm/deny?

word. Thanks!

Oh, wait. This is biggest guy I've grown

1. probably not good enough water delivery technique.
do a better dunk or mist more often to help prevent that and
bring them all into full maturity.
it could be strain related though...

2. yes, you can pick. the gills will always be pale, the only color
they'll turn is blue. they're sterile, most PE gills are. no spores.
so the as soon as the gills start to turn blue, pick them. PE doesn't
have a veil either really. Not one to speak of really.

3. Penis Envy. maybe a different strain on the cakes though...

negative on the temperature thing. just coincidence.
