It's usually best after 12 to 36 hours after the storm. I also live in your region, and I have had more success in fields with pine trees. Check these fields also.

High there and WWelcome to the Shroomery.

You can began by looking in cow manure in pastures in your area.

If you do not find them in one pasture then keep looking into every pasture you find. Sooner or later something will eventually show yup and you will be very excited and happy because then you will eventually find some Psilocybe cubensis, of which many people here at the shroomery have posted pictures of this species in the gallery and in the mushroom hunting forums.

i'm actually living in Atlanta this summer and i've been thinking lately about taking a trip up to Hilton Head. If you're interested at all, perhaps you and some of your hunter friends would like to take an excursion with me and my friends. We're all kinda inexperienced in finding the right shrooms so any extra help would be cool. hit me back, later

Speaking of southern shroomerites, I just moved to Mississippi to go to MSU, if anyone
lives near that area (Starkville, Columbus.. NE MS, or NW AL, drop me a line.)
