Info about wild Tennessee Shrooms?

I have partaken of shrooms dried before but have little experience mushroom hunting.
I was wondering if anyone here knows what particular species most commonly grows wild in the middle TN area? I've often found large white cap mushrooms and tiny conical capped mushrooms with black gills while out walking fields, but none to bruise blue. Once I found some rather large brown spotted capped mushrooms growing in a friends front yard in his freshly spread mulch. These when I snapped the stem turned a dark purple color almost immediatly. I take nothing without 100% certainty however so if they were a species of psilocybe they went to waste. Do any psilocybe species turn a purplish color instead of bluish tint when bruised?
Any help is appreciated.

where in middle TN, nashville? A friend was wondering him self. I've seen somewhere reports of cubensis. I bet the dung loving psilocybe lives here as well as some pan. sub. I have no first hand knowledge though.
