what you do is fully dry the buds by hang drying, them you place them in the air tight jar. open the jar once a day for the first week, then once a week for a month. if you didn't dry sufficiently just leave the jar open overnight or until they are crispy dry again.

well, the rason you cure buds is to convert sugar and starches into diffrent compounds ie less harsher smoke for the lungs and also remove clorophyll , clorphyll makes the weed taste like it has a bunch of leaves in them, you should cure them at least 5-6 weeks imo because it has to be done in the right speed, allthough you get some curing done in just two weeks as well. You can also cure the buds to some degree by letting it be stored cold 60-65F, medium humidity and good airflow after you cut the buds in order to let the metabolic process continue and convert starches into sugar and then hang the buds up to dry in higher temps, lower humidity after a small week or so. when you want to cure them in jars after drying, be 100% sure they are dry, you check this by opening the jars once or twice a day and see if more moist is coming out from the buds. When they are ready just seal the lid and let it be stored in dark for as long as you want, there is no need for air exchange if they are completly free for moisture, if there is moisture there sure will be some mold with time, i have had buds curing for over 5 months , its kinda like good wine, it gets smoother in taste with time. hope this helps some and good luck.
