I've read other studies that say marijuana smoke has been shown to cause pre-cancerous changes in lung tissue cells...

Looks like .gov is going to give kid some more propaganda. Asa just approved another government supervised study of cannabis at UCSD. (UC San Diego). I'm curious just what the fuck makes cops qualified to supervise such a study. CPR training at the police academy?

Leafblower, nobody has died of a direct marijuana OD. That does not mean that nobody has died from marijuana induced lung or throat cancer. It would be far easier to tell if someone died of an OD (hmmm, bong in hand, burnt out bowl...) than if some poor sap dies of cancer and what might have caused it. Also, I highly doubt they've proven marijuana cures cancer, as people who smoke cigarrettes and weed still get cancer.

Smoking anything, no matter what it is, is bad for your lungs. Cancer is just caused when cells die, then die somemore, then more die, then the body is duplicating cells so rapidly that it forgets things, usually the cell just dies, but sometimes you get cancer A.K.A. a cell that doesn't have any cell "codings" and doesn't know when to stop growing. Smoke leaves tars, ash, and other things (product dependant) all which kill cells. Marijuana may have the ability to cure cancer, but it also causes it, so its a catch 22. Its like those damn mushrooms they are marketing in japan, that fight cancer, but have carcinogens in them.

marijuana is used to treat the pain of the chemo and the cancer, NOT the cancer itself. Marijuana is NOT a cure for anything except maybe glaucoma. It is like oxycontin except non addictive and non-death causing. not a cure just a pain killer. thats like saying dxm cures the cold because it stops the coughing(it's in cough-supressants)
